Alright, it's not really a secret, but with how it's been emulating a speakeasy for the past nine years, what the bar has been up to always feels like it's kept on the DL. Especially outside the social media game (well, up until recently), it's all seems like quality insider information. Now, though, it doesn't seem fair to leave it to word-of-mouth anymore when it's pretty exciting stuff. Since last month, on top of serving up world-renowned cocktails, 28 HongKong Street has been expanding its menu.
Proper Dinner

We suppose this is when we can feel a little less annoyed about Phase 2 regulations, since the earlier operating hours have bestowed upon us the chance to sit down and enjoy a hearty meal in the same intimate setting that we love about the late-night venue. And unlike many places we shall not name, it's not just dinner for dinner's sake. The bar is collaborating with industry-leading chefs across America to curate the evening menu, which will change periodically. This also means the opportunity to take the taste buds on a trip around the states while we remain indefinitely here.
Sweet Liberty
Kicking off with James Beard Award-winning Chef Michelle Bernstein, diners are treated to Southern Comfort-style cuisine. Michy's Fried Chicken, or the chicken that made Michy famous, makes you see why it's the pride of Miami's gastrobar Sweet Liberty. Crispy, juicy, yet not oily, it's complimented with a tangy feta watermelon salad and addictive mashed potatoes whipped so thick it might just defy gravity. There's also the very savoury Steak Frites laid with au Poivre and Hollandaise sauces and green beans almondine.

Cocktails are not forgotten. The Brown Derby, a light and easy blend of grapefruit and honey with Bourbon, is an example of how the drinks are exclusively concocted to pair. Likewise, the Beast of Bourbon, which has the same Michter’s US*1 Small Batch Bourbon deliciously matched with coffee, spiced rum, honey, allspice and Angostura bitters, is a heady one to polish off your meal, or start the night ahead with.
We did say it was pretty exciting, didn’t we? Now, if this is an inkling of what to expect, consider us ready.
