Lim Chiao Woon may be an unknown name but he hoards a treasure trove. Called Mr Lim's Shop of Visual Treasures, this nondescript corner showcases Lim's personal art collection. Consisting of works from Ai Weiwei, Banksy, and Kaws, patrons can peruse and purchase them for their own personal viewing/investment.
Now, Lim has put together a group show called FOOLS to raise awareness and support for young local artists. While it feels like a cheap stunt by including Ai Weiwei (whom we will get to in the next paragraph) in the header for the SEO points, FOOLS' main goal is to showcase Singaporean artists that "you may not yet know [and] whose work you'll come to love". Expect works from Woon Tien Wei, Jennifer Teo, Yang Jie, Wen Chao, and others at FOOLS.
And, of course, there are three silkscreened masks donated by Ai Weiwei and they are priced at EUR 1,000 each. Proceeds of the sale will go towards Amnesty International.
Fools will run until the end of April and is located at Tanglin Shopping Centre, #01-43, 19 Tanglin Road, Singapore 247909.
