Have you ever stayed at a resort so good that it was sinful for your bank account? We all know that Aman offers some of the best uber-luxurious retreats at some of the most exotic locations in the world—from the ancient temples of Angkor in Siem Reap, Cambodia to the medieval city of Marrakech in Morocco. It's no wonder the exclusive resort brand has a few famous fans; Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, and Novak Djokovi are just some of Aman's regulars. Well, you can now take the Aman experience home with you—enjoy a little taste of what Aman has to offer in your bathroom with their new range of skincare and bath products.
Aman Skincare’s lineup consists of 30 products ranging from essential moisturisers, serums, and masks, to body oils, milk baths and pulse point remedies formulated from natural ingredients harvested from various Aman destinations. As you slather on the balms and salves, the evocative blend of scents teleports your soul back to an Aman spa helping your body and mind unwind from the tension of everyday life.
One glance at the offering and it’s clear that Aman’s holistic approach to its resorts has been encapsulated in its grooming and body care products, right down to the vessels that house the concoctions. Acclaimed Japanese architect Kengo Kuma manages to distill the calming features of Aman architecture and its Eastern roots into a striking deep brown flaçon that would look at home on the desk of grooming junkies and non-junkies alike.
As much as the brand's offerings serve up visual and olfactory sensorial treats, they are all bells and whistles if the products themselves don’t work. Fortunately, Aman Skincare packs in state-of-the-art ingredients such as argan stem cells and Kalpariane seaweed extracts together with wild-harvested botanicals like evening primrose, moringa, calendula and sea buckthorn, to create synergistically efficacious blends. The inclusion of rare, decadent minerals and metals such as jade, amethyst, homeopathic silver and gold boost both superficial and inner healing properties. Ayurvedic ingredients like turmeric, honey, and sea salt soothe, fight off bacteria and exfoliate while nourishing oils like rosehip, amber and sandalwood repair, hydrates and fights off oxidative stress on the skin.
The collection comes in three ranges (or Pathways as they call them) with each embodying the main elements of nature: the Grounding line to mitigate stress and wash away anxiety; Purifying is designed to invigorate and re-energise the body; Nourishing line aims to cosset the skin with indulgently rich creams and balms.
Out of the whole range, the Marine Face Wash and Hyaluronic Face Hydrator from the Purifying line might just be our favourites. The Marine Face Wash is effective at providing a thorough cleanse, yet does not strip the skin of its moisture due to the inclusion of Kalpariane—a seaweed extract that has powerful rejuvenating properties while keeping the skin elastic and supple—and Vitamin C-rich moringa oil. The Hyaluronic Face Hydrator, as the name suggests, is a no-frills emulsion that intensely hydrates and conditions with sea lavender and algae extract to keep skin firm, supple and elastic.
Along with the launch, Aman junkies would be glad to know that each Aman resort has their own signature spa menu that incorporates the products from the collection into their existing localised spa treatments and, naturally, treatments can be tailored for individuals with various concerns and wellness goals.
