Bulgari begins the year with a fourth world record, introducing what is now the world’s thinnest automatic tourbillon: Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Automatic. This watch achieves its insane ultra-thinness with a peripheral rotor and of course all the learnings from the previous three world record-breaking ultra-thin watches. Plus it is not just ultra-thin but ultra-light too, since it is made entirely in titanium.
What’s most astounding is that this is a bracelet watch—no other ultra-thin watch comes with a bracelet—and naturally the bracelet and clasp are ultra-thin as well. Bravo Bulgari!
Next, the Octo Finissimo Minute Repeater returns to the spotlight but cloaked in ultra-sexy black carbon which, the manufacture has stated, conducts sound even better than titanium. Octo Finissimo Minute Repeater Carbon has the complex Octo case which is the perfect form to show off the nuances of forged carbon. You could see the material’s natural markings on the dial, and also the carbon layers fanned out on the bezel. A superb creation that demonstrates how ingenious the manufacture is when it comes to both technical watchmaking and watch design.
The Octo line is poised to become Bulgari’s worldwide bestseller thanks to this new model: Octo Finissimo Automatic Sandblasted. Also ultrathin like the other Finissimo timepieces, this piece comes with a gorgeous sandblasted case and bracelet that looks like nothing else on the market. Combined with the strong angles of the Octo case, the sandblasted finishing gives the watch a cool modern industrial vibe. Whether in steel or rose gold, this watch is a designer’s dream come true.
Bulgari has also released line extensions of the Octo Roma. This year a blue dial enters the fray, along with a black dial with bicolour case and bracelet, and a slate grey model. Octo L’Originale Titanium represents the origins of the Octo line but now has a sleek and contemporary aesthetic.
