It’s five months into 2019 and if you’re still lagging behind your new year’s health resolution, we’ve got a pretty darn good solution that will help you attain your dream #summerbod. With island-wide delivery and a variety of options to please even the most cynical snacktivist, recalibrate your fitness goals and celebrate mid-2019 with these five healthy selections that won’t compromise your diet.
Amazin' Graze
The new kid on the block, Low Sugar Wild Strawberry Granola ($10.90), is Amazin’ Graze’s latest invention and only comprises of nine ingredients—that’s less than the number of Netflix shows we’re currently watching (oops). With all the controversies surrounding the amount of processed sugars that goes into granola, we were pleased to discover that this granola comprises of less than 5% sugar; all of which comes from the natural sweetness of monk fruit (aka luo han guo, aka scary-black-herbal-drink-that-surprisingly-tastes-good).

Boxgreen
Potato chips are our ultimate vice. When We stumbled upon a healthy dupe for our favourite chips (Kettle’s Honey Dijon chips, if anyone is asking), we impulsively bought 12 packets at one go. Boxgreen’s Honey Mustard Roast Crisps ($19.90 for 6 packets) is said dupe, comprising of baked soya crisps tossed in a malty, mustard-y, sweet-savoury spice mix that is rich in flavour, but never cloying.

Calli
If you have an aching sweet tooth, or simply want some ice cream therapy, Calli is a home-grown brand that offers everything you’re looking for, sans the post ice-cream guilt. Retailing at $14.90 per pint and ranging from 320 calories to 390 calories per pint (yes, you read that right), this skinny ice cream also incorporates whey protein in its recipe to amp up its nutritional benefits. Durian Durian is our top-pick—boasting a rich durian flavour accompanied with a creamy texture that is almost gelato-like.

Little Farms
Little Farms pride themselves for sourcing the best snacks and freshest ingredients from around the world and congregating it in one friendly neighbourhood grocer. In short, think atas NTUC that shelves a wider variety of international snacks. Cobs Natural Coco Crunch Popcorn ($4.98) was a recent find during one of our snack hunts for an impromptu Game of Thrones marathon. Coated with a layer of cocoa powder and infused with the sweetness of raw sugar, we found its name apt, as it reminded us of a less sweet, but crunchier version of Coco Crunch. Pro-tip: refrain from smiling with teeth if you’ve just binged on this.

The Hunter's Kitchenette
Because almond butter is a lil’ too passé, The Hunter’s Kitchenette’s Black Sesame Spread ($14) became our next go-to spread to smear on bread, biscuits, apple slices… you name it. Made from a single ingredient of lightly-roasted black sesame seeds, this jar of black paste retains its full nutritional benefits, such as improving digestion, hair texture, complexion and bone health. Besides, it’s fragrant, nutty taste and velvety smooth texture makes it a great solo snack to eat right out of the jar.
