Surprise surprise, Bose has changed the game again. Having quality wireless music is just not enough, they went and made untethered listening even cooler. Fashioned in two timeless designs, the sunglasses come in the square Alto and a rounded Rondo. We had a quick preview on how awesome this revolutionary accessory is, and it is exactly how you imagine the experience would be. Maybe better. Effortlessly uncomplicated, fully recharged in under two hours, and 3.5 hours playback.
They are pretty subtle
Rather than earbuds, the minuscule acoustic package is set seamlessly in each arm. And no, no one can hear your music. Unless they have absolutely no concept of personal space and have stuck their face next to yours.
The classic matte black shades carry an ultra-small microphone and multi-function button for touch and voice control. Meaning you can use them for Siri or Google Assistant, calls and the standard pausing and skipping of songs.
Lenses are interchangeable
Aside from the standard polarised lenses, a Mirrored Silver is available for Alto, Mirrored Rose Gold for Rondo, and Blue Gradient for both. Of course, all offer the same protection, scratch and shatter resistance.
They are AR compatible
Bose Frames are actually the first commercial product embedded with the Bose audio augmented reality platform. Unfortunately it does not project virtual reality, but by sensing what you're facing using a 9-axis head motion sensor and where you are via your device's GPS, it will automatically add a layer of audio through Bose AR apps.
To try out this AR capability before purchase, the Bose pop-up store at Terminal 3 Departure Hall awaits you until 3o June if you happen to be flying this holiday season. Lucky you.
They don't break the bank
Retailing at SGD299, the frames are a steal considering that you're getting one of the top names in audio on a product that doubles in function. The only con we can foresee is perhaps unintentionally looking like a douche during indoor usage on a rainy day.
Bose Frames are available at iShopChangi and all Bose stores.
