Last year, Foo Fighters wanted to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its debut album by releasing their 10th album, Medicine at Midnight, before embarking on a world tour. There were supposed to be videos, documentaries but the pandemic happened and those plans were added to an ever-growing list of "the best laid schemes o' mice an' men".
Still, you do with the hand you're dealt and Dave Grohl and company worked with the sudden lack of structure for the remainder of the year as best as they could.
Even as Medicine at Midnight is scheduled for a 5 February 2021 drop, three singles have been released ("Shame Shame"; "No Son of Mine" and "Waiting on a War") and a sake made with Japanese distillery, Tatenokawa.
The next collaborative merch that commemorates the debut album's 25th anniversary is a Sk8-Hi model from Vans. These limited-edition shoes feature black uppers with red contrast stitching and the band's white double-F logo on the medial and lateral sides. If you notice that Vans' traditional sidestripes are now outlined in the same red contrast stitching. Finishing up the look are the words “Foo” and “Fighters” in red on the heel and the 25th-anniversary edition embroidery tags on the tongues.
Vans x Foo Fighters Sk8-Hi will be available worldwide on January 29 at all Vans retail outlets and online at the Foo Fighters and Vans websites.
