You can’t call yourself an EDM head if you’ve not heard of or listened to DJ Myrne. This is the guy who single-handedly put Singapore on the map of electronic dance music. And he wasn’t even out of the army yet when Diplo’s record label Mad Decent signed him on in 2015. He was formerly the first and only Asian to have ever done so. Now he remains the first and only Singaporean working with the LA-based DJ and record producer.

Myrne has also recently cut an exclusive multiple-record deal with Ultra Records. This makes him the first Singaporean artist to sign with the hitmaking label. Having performed at such leading world EDM festivals as Ultra Miami and Tomorrowland, Myrne is definitely on his way to becoming a Singaporean icon. And his achievements have not gone unnoticed by the luxury industry. Swiss watchmaker Hublot has just appointed Myrne as its first Singaporean friend-of-the-brand – yet another first for the 24-year-old sound hound.

Hublot is no stranger to the music world and collaborations. It has worked with the likes of electronic band Depeche Mode and classical musician Lang Lang. The brand also became the official timekeeper of Ultra Singapore since 2017. Constantly championing its Art of Fusion philosophy in everything from timepieces to partnerships, Hublot is a link between the past and the future, between tradition and innovation.

As a trained pianist and an EDM producer, Myrne has one foot in the classical world and another in the 21st century. And that's just perfect for a brand like Hublot.

Myrne says, “Experimentation is a huge part of my musical DNA and I was incredibly honoured when Hublot approached me to be the brand’s first Friend of Hublot in Singapore. I love that they have a history of constantly challenging norms and daring to be different, and I’m personally a huge fan of their Big Bang Unico Titanium watch which really reflects my personality and career; it’s classic and seemingly unassuming, yet powerful, sleek and full of confidence.”

A classic of the manufacture, the Hublot Big Bang Unico fits Myrne’s exuberant style to a T. Its titanium case is ultra-strong, ultra-light and ultra-cool.
