It's is said that nothing suits us men like a suit, but the biggest challenge is finding one that fits you right. You can get away with an off-the-rack number with help from a seamstress to make alterations, but that pales in comparison with the depth of customization you can get with the made-to-measure service; like the one Alfred Dunhill is offering this weekend.
Alfred Dunhill will be flying in their head of made-to-measure services, Jonathan Payne to present their latest offering from their spring/summer 2019 line up—including the addition of 60 new fabrics, bumping up the total to 335 cloths—and the new Mayfair silhouette, which is a more contemporary cut that has a shorter jacket length and narrower leg with a tapered bottom half. But if that is not your speed, there’s always the option of classic silhouettes like the Belgravia, which is a less severe cut of the Mayfair; the St. James, which features a traditional English cut; or, the Fitzrovia with deconstructed soft shoulders.
Having options is great, but it can get a little daunting, so here are some tips to consider before making your way down to the trunk. If your suit will be travelling with you often, try fabrics with a mohair blend that will help minimise creasing and is durable. For a lightweight jacket for the day, a British barathea fabric with a worsted texture is a solid option. Lastly, for the evening tuxedo, we suggest a midnight blue option; under harsh lightning dark blue looks closer to black than traditional black.
Alfred Dunhill's Head of Made-to-Measure services, Jonathan Payne will be at the Dunhill Paragon store from 16 to 18 March. For an appointment, drop them an email at firstname.lastname@example.org or call +65 6734 8126.
