The 76th Annual Golden Globe Awards was more than just failed (and mostly awkward) punchlines from co-host Andy Samberg, and the usual controversial wins (people seem to be unhappy about Green Book's wins). The red carpet fashion at the Globes is matched only by The Academy Awards. Because of the nature of the event, celebrities tend to pull all the stops in showing up in their best formal duds. For the ladies, this means turning up in haute couture fresh from the runways of Paris. And for the men, it's black tie but (hopefully) updated in all manner of colours, textures and fabrications.
This year, the men are clearly taking more of a risk. We saw less tried-and-tested black wool tuxedos this time around; perhaps having taken style cues from fashion standouts Ezra Miller and Timothée Chalamet. Even when men such as newly-crowned Golden Globe winner Richard Madden, and Dave Franco resorted to black, they're amped up with interesting details.
