There wasn't a red carpet in the traditional sense at the 78th Golden Globe Awards. We are, after all, still dealing with a global pandemic. But that hasn't stopped the Golden Globes—pretty much the opener to the annual award show season—from being host to some very stylish looks, with a number of them coming fresh off the recent fashion runway presentations.
The 78th Golden Globe Awards celebrated the best in both television and film, and as with every year before this, nominees were not only restricted to the Hollywood-based set. Hence, the format included both in-studio appearances (held at The Beverly Hilton) as well as live-streamed captures from around the globe. So yes, we're using the term 'red carpet' a tad loosely here.
Fashion standouts this year included probably the first appearances of Valentino Haute Couture's debut for men, as seen on Schitt's Creek's Dan Levy (who was up for 'Best Supporting Actor') and double-nominee Leslie Odom Jr. The Crown's Josh O'Connor not only won big with his first Golden Globe but also on the style front with a contemporary look by Loewe. And on the actual red carpet in Beverly Hills, this year's Golden Globe Ambassador, Jackson Lee—the son of director Spike Lee—made quite an impression in head-to-toe Gucci.
