In a relatively short period of time, Acne Studios has become a force in the fashion world. What started as a creative collective in 1996, has turned into a standalone fashion brand spanning women's and men's ready-to-wear, shoes and accessories, after an initial run of 100 pairs of denim jeans created by co-founder Jonny Johansson.
Like most things Swedish, there's the undeniably minimalistic approach to fashion—clean lines, simple silhouettes and carefully thought out details. Somewhat uncharacteristically, Acne Studios has evolved to include fashion forward stylings and a timely repertoire of streetwear-friendly designs. The brand's signature logo-ed collar motif (that has since inspired a few other brands) and the emoji face motif collection, have become part of the streetwear landscape; an arena that is uncommon for most Swedish brands.
For several years now, Acne Studios has periodically launched Acne Archive, an online pop-up sale event that goes live for only 48 hours. And just like the name suggests, the sale revolves around past-season Acne Studios pieces that go for as much as 75 percent off original retail prices. But if you're thinking that these are probably items that nobody in their right mind wanted, think again.
The 2019 edition of Acne Archive is set to begin on 2 April, and by the looks of it, fans of the brand will not be disappointed. Part of the offerings this time includes Acne Studios classics such as hoodies (with signature logo trimmings), denim jeans, and face motif tees. Unless you've swallowed every Acne Studios catalogue from its first collection, there's no telling exactly which collection each piece was made for. And since Acne Archive will only go live for 48 hours, there's no time for the usual 'add to cart and mull over it' act. It's time to scan, like, click and buy.
The Acne Archive online pop-up event will run from 2 April 2019 at 4pm Singapore time, for only 48 hours.
