A decade ago, hotel bars used to be reserved for staying guests or business occasions. Now, it's easily the hangout of patrons of all (legal drinking) ages alike. Cosy corners and a vibrant atmosphere make an ideal post-work catch up spot or lazy weekend lounge. Because as much as a decent Old Fashioned can occasionally do the trick, a good hotel bar isn’t just about what’s in your rocks glass. This Verified List, compiled with detailed hush-hush data gathered by Forbes incognito inspectors, looks at an all-around exemplary drinking experience.
The rigorous evaluation includes a varied and interesting beverage program, where offerings were destination or property centric. Also, show-stopping presentations with carefully selected serviceware and even exceptional snacks that complement the drinks. Finally, attentive and anticipatory service right down to the delivery of beverages at correct temperatures and fulfilling the individual preferences of guests.
Of the many hotels anonymously assessed, 10 distinguished bars across Asia made the cut, with Post Bar at The Fullerton Hotel Singapore bringing us national pride. The full list of World's Best Bars 2019 includes London taking the most wins at six of the 44 bars shortlisted.
