Everyone loves a good revival. Disney is remaking live-action versions of a lot of its animated repertoire this year, with The Lion King finally showing in theatres this week and Mulan slated for a 2020 release. On the television front, there was a Charmed reboot, the hugely popular Queer Eye reboot on Netflix, and now, it's official that Gossip Girl will be revived for ten episodes.
If you need a recap, Gossip Girl ended its six-season run back in 2012 and revolved around the lives of privileged youths living in Manhattan's Upper East Side. It's the typical young adult drama series—with romance, sex, crime and the like—but among Manhattan's elites, narrated by the elusive Gossip Girl character. The fashion in the series though (these are youths with access to a seemingly endless supply of money) is quite something.
Chuck Bass was undoubtedly, the most stylish man of the bunch. Played by Ed Westwick, Bass is the epitome of young American dandy. In the best way possible, Bass looked as though Brooks Brothers vomited all over him. The man was almost always in a suit. And when he's not, he's lounging around his apartment in his robe, or dressed in typical prep school combinations of polo shirts and cardigans.
It's his propensity for wearing multiple colours and prints that made him stand out from the rest at St. Jude's School for Boys. Chuck Bass was unapologetically self-centred and thought pretty highly of himself that he couldn't care less about the opinions of anyone he felt was lesser than him. And it showed in the way he dressed. He wore pinks and purples confidently, and matched paisleys with checks with ease.
But like any douche, he sometimes tend to dress like so:

While it's been said that the new Gossip Girl series will be developed for the yet-to-launch HBO Max streaming service and will be a continuation to the original series, no cast information has been revealed. There still might be a possibility for a Chuck Bass or a Serena van der Woodsen (played by Blake Lively) cameo. But till then, take a look back in the gallery above at the best suits that Bass has worn throughout the six seasons in chronological order.
XOXO, Gossip Girl.
