Don't call it a comeback. Following in the footsteps of Travis Scott and Kate Moss, Keanu Reeves has returned to popular culture, fronting Saint Laurent's autumn/winter 2019 campaign. Reeves might be better known for his prolific run in the '90s and the early 2000s—starring in blockbusters the likes of The Matrix, Speed, and Something's Gotta Give—but the multi-hyphenate actor had a revival of sorts with his latest efforts in the John Wick trilogy.
The campaign shot by famed British photographer, David Sims—and art directed by Saint Laurent's creative director, Anthony Vaccarello—sees the Canadian actor in a series of menswear staples. From pinstriped peak-lapel blazers and soft shearling outerwear to a beautiful leather rendition of the traditional trucker jacket, Reeves looks totally at home in the latest autumn/winter 2019 collection. And, of course, each look is anchored with skinny black jeans.
In the debate of the future direction of menswear, maybe the immortal, time-travelling Keanu Reeves holds the answer—elevated menswear classics that don't steal the spotlight from the man wearing them. One word: whoa.
