The Moncler Genius project has given us some of the most stellar collaborations in luxury fashion. From the likes of Craig Green to streetwear legend Hiroshi Fujiwara of Fragment, the collaborations are released monthly with each designer putting their own stamp on Moncler's signature down. The collaborations originally focused on ready-to-wear but has since evolved to include other categories.
Coming this September is Moncler's first partnership with RIMOWA. First unveiled in February, the Moncler RIMOWA 'Reflection' luggage is based on the latter's Original Cabin luggage silhouette but updated with limited-edition specifications. The exterior is crafted in RIMOWA's iconic aluminium that's been polished to create an incredibly mirrored surface, and then topped with a Moncler badge in metal. In contrast to the super reflective body, the Moncler RIMOWA 'Reflective' luggage is is fixed with matte black corner bumpers and handles.
And it doesn't stop there. The luggage comes packed with a set of packing cubes—made of Moncler's signature padded nylon fabric, of course—designed to make packing more organised. Additionally, a luggage tag and belt make up part of the set.
The Moncler RIMOWA show pieces that were presented in February featured an LED panel on the exterior that scrolls a customisable message. While that will only be retailed by Moncler, RIMOWA's much simpler (and more practical) iteration will be available in limited quantities worldwide from 17 September 2020 in both physical and online Moncler and RIMOWA stores.
Not convinced on the exclusive partnership? Here are other mirrored and reflective fashion pieces that you can get a hold of.
Metal Voguez Volez Voyagez paperweight, by Louis Vuitton (SGD2,830 each)

Add some much needed sophistication to your work desk with a paperweight that's not something that you fashioned out of unused stationeries. It's a plus too that it's shaped like a car; play with it when you feel uninspired.
Leather sneakers with reflective trims, by Alexander McQueen (approximately SGD736 each via Mr Porter)

Stark white sneakers get an upgrade with reflective leather heel tabs that seemingly light up when they're hit by light sources.
Metal sunglasses with mirrored lenses, by Balenciaga (SGD530 each)

Mirrored lenses are a boon for not only keeping the sun's rays away, but they also add a sportier vibe to any outfit. And it helps that they're great at hiding any traces of what happened last night.
Nylon and polyester reflective puffer jacket, by Fear of God Essentials (approximately SGD308 each via SSENSE)

Fear of God Essentials is Jerry Lorenzo's minimalist take on wardrobe staples. This reflective puffer jacket is the kind you'd want to have handy for those winter vacations.
Nylon reflective bag, by Billionaire Boys Club (approximately SGD155 each via MATCHESFASHION)

Count on Pharrell Williams to merge streetwear with a futuristic slant such as this mini crossbody bag crafted with a slightly reflective exterior that's reminiscent of spacesuits.
