Oscars 2022: Best red carpet menswear looks

In what seemed like years in the making, the 94th Academy Awards—simply, the Oscars—made a return to Hollywood's Dolby Theatre. Sure, there were some Covid-19 protocols that were put in place, including the more spacious seating arrangement for those sitting close to the stage, but there were largely less stringent measures and it seemed like the 2022 Oscars were back to pre-pandemic formalities.

That could've been a reason why on the red carpet, the men were taking more sartorial risks. Wesley Snipes, for example, turned up in a purple Givenchy outfit that was a more fashion-forward take on the traditional tuxedo. The Power of the Dog's Kodi Smit-McPhee turned things up with powder blue Bottega Veneta tailoring, complete with Intrecciato footwear. Then, there's Timothée Chalamet. Ever the fashion maven, the Dune star took to the 2022 Oscars in a spring/summer 2022 Louis Vuitton womenswear look that consisted of an embroidered lace tuxedo jacket and supplemented by just Cartier jewellery.

If this is a sign of things to come for the upcoming Grammy Awards happening next week, we're in for quite a stylish award show season.
