If there is one thing that the COVID-19 virus can't stop—despite all the self-isolation—is the onslaught of collaborations. With that being said, London skate brand Palace Skateboards is teaming up with legendary Japanese denim label Evisu for a capsule collection that pays homage to the impact the latter had on the London's club scene in the 90s and 00s.
The capsule collection sees a run of denim jackets, jeans, totes and bucket hats, all featuring Evisu and Palace logos and patch pockets. But not just limited to denim, the collab also includes heavy gauge cotton hoodies, pullovers and T-shirts, all plastered with the logos of both brands. In short, the collaboration is Palace's love letter to Evisu.
More than just products, the collaboration also includes a film featuring Lucien Clarke and Rory Milanes from Palace's skate team, as well as celebrated London jungle MC Skibdee spitting verses rapid-fire style. The film starts at a modern petrol station before transiting into a trippy retro-futuristic world, before transitioning back again.
The collection will be available online on Friday 3 April on both Palace's and Evisu’s site at 11am. Ironically, this hyped drop will probably be an easier cop than surgical facial masks or a time slot for your Redmart delivery. Enjoy it while it lasts, fellas.
