As RIMOWA has proved time and time again, travel is no longer a solely function-above-all affair. And with the many unique (and highly covetable) collaborations that RIMOWA has released, as well as a wide range of options to choose from, it's not that much of a feat to find something to one's taste or liking.
If the last round of new colours were introduced to the RIMOWA Original aluminium series, the brand's famed polycarbonate series is getting two new colours—Berry and Glacier.
Just like the previous colour releases, RIMOWA often takes inspiration from far-flung destinations—places that have still been relatively left untouched. Because what's more beautiful than the wonders that Mother Nature has bestowed upon us?
The new colours, Berry and Glacier, were referenced from the island country of Iceland. While the latter is somewhat of a literal interpretation of Iceland as we've always imagined it to be—cold, icy and frigid—Berry may be a rather curious choice for some. But with Iceland being in the North Atlantic, its subarctic climate experiences variable weather changes while the many fjords within the island separate different types of landscapes. Berry, in particular, is taken from the fjord of Hvalfjörður in the west of Iceland.
Each colour is seamlessly applied across the different elements that make up the RIMOWA Essential. From the handle to the badge and down to even the zipper, the Berry and Glacier colours are expertly matched, creating pieces that are just as chic as they are functionally designed with the traveller in mind.
Last season's introduction of Slate and Saffron to the RIMOWA Essential series, will also be reproduced to join the new duo. The question is now: which one will you take on your next journey?
