With the holidays around the corner, the festive season is more than just a time for respite from a hectic year and gifts (be honest now, who doesn't love gifts), but also time to bring together, and show love for the people who matter. Riccardo Tisci had that notion in mind when crafting his first holiday campaign for the house of Burberry. Titled 'What Is Love', the campaign features a diverse cast that includes Zhou Dongyu, Yoo Ah-in, Fran Summers, Marina Morena, Ikram Abdi Omar, Mahmood and Ruben Loftus-Cheek—all shot by famed photography duo, Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.
"I loved the idea of bringing together a group of people that have been so supportive of me since I joined Burberry to celebrate my first holiday campaign for the house," says Tisci. "I am connected to the idea of unity, togetherness and challenging the perception of what love is today. This for me is the real spirit of the season. It’s one of my favourite times of the year—when I can stop, reflect and reconnect with those who make me feel happy and at home, no matter where I am in the world."
Burberry also launched a festive collection to go with the campaign. Black-tie classics are given a dose of sparkle with crystal embellishments on tuxedos and pearl detailing on leather shoes. Scarfs featuring archival prints are available in light silk versions as well as a down version. The leather goods like the TB bag and totes are also available in more colourways in the collection. Let the Christmas shopping begin.
