ICYMI: Apple recently announced a bunch of exciting new products and updates at their Fall keynote. If you weren’t able to catch the updates of what’s coming, we got you.
iPhone 14 Pro & iPhone 14 Pro Max
Design & Colours: iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max feature a beautiful surgical-grade stainless steel and textured matte glass design in four stunning colours: deep purple, silver, gold, and space black. Available in 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch sizes, both models include a new Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion. The advanced display also brings the same peak HDR brightness level as Pro Display XDR, which is twice as bright as iPhone 13 Pro.
What’s new: The Dynamic Island enables new ways to interact with iPhone, featuring a design that blends the line between hardware and software, adapting in real time to show important alerts, notifications, and activities. iPhone 14 Pro also takes computational photography even further with Photonic Engine, offering a giant leap for mid- to low-light performance in photos across all cameras—featuring a new 48MP Main camera with a quad-pixel sensor.
The groundbreaking stuff: Crash Detection on iPhone can now detect a severe car crash and automatically dial emergency services when a user is unconscious or unable to reach their iPhone. Another feature, Emergency SOS via satellite, allows antennas to connect directly to a satellite, enabling messaging with emergency services when outside of cellular or Wi-Fi coverage.
Get your hands on one: Pre-orders begin today, and will be available at Apple stores and online from September 16.
AirPods Pro (2nd Generation)
Design: A redesigned inward-facing microphone works with voice enhancement algorithms to better recognise and articulate your voice, so it sounds more natural when you’re on phone and video calls. Now with an extra‑small size, four pairs of silicone tips are included to fit a wider range of ears. The tips create an acoustic seal that closes in the sound — and secures the AirPods Pro in place.
What’s new: The new H2 chip designed by Apple is the force behind AirPods Pro and its advanced audio performance. It works with a custom‑built driver and amplifier to deliver crisp, clear high notes and deep, rich bass in ways that will tickle your senses (well, just one in this case). This also means you get three-dimensional sound and efficient battery life.
The groundbreaking stuff: You get up to two times more noise cancellation with these bad boys. A new driver and improved acoustic algorithms help Active Noise Cancellation reduce more unwanted noise, so nothing interrupts listening. Personalised Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking works with all your devices to immerse you deeper in all-around-you sound, and Adaptive EQ accounts for the fit of AirPods Pro, so you hear every frequency just as it was intended.
Get your hands on a pair: Pre-orders begin on September 19, and will be available at Apple stores and online from 23 September.
Apple Watch Series 8
Design & Colours: It features the beloved design of Apple Watch, including a large, Always-On Retina display and a strong crack-resistant front crystal, with all-day 18-hour battery life. Apple Watch Series 8 will be available across a range of case finishes, colours, and band types to fit a variety of personal styles. Aluminium case colours for Apple Watch Series 8 include starlight, midnight, silver, and (PRODUCT)RED, while the stainless steel case offers silver, graphite, and gold.
What’s new: Similar to the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, the Apple Watch Series 8 also features Crash Detection. To also keep users connected for even longer, a new Low Power Mode can extend battery life to reach up to 36 hours for Apple Watch Series 8 with an iPhone present. With international roaming coming later this fall, users can stay connected to a cellular network while travelling abroad. Plans can be extended to Apple Watch from iPhone for little or no additional fee and will be available with over 30 carriers worldwide.
The groundbreaking stuff: The new Medications experience on Apple Watch and iPhone helps users manage and track their medications, vitamins, and supplements, allowing them to create a medications list, set up schedules and reminders, and view information on their medications in the Health app.
