It's referred to as an "entry-level fitness smartwatch" but its one that impressively packs in most of the features from the HUAWEI WATCH GT 2 Pro. Let's start with the look of the device first: with regards to pushing the aesthetics, the WATCH FIT goes for a pronounced rectangular face, it almost looks like a very miniaturised phone screen on your screen. If you want to spruce it up, the smartwatch comes pre-loaded with different watch faces to choose from (much more can be downloaded from HUAWEI Health app).
With a 1.64-inch rectangular AMOLED screen, it is smaller than your average smartwatches on the market but it does the job. The smartwatch displays your virtual personal trainer, demonstrating the moves before going into the exercise proper. It's light at 21g, which, I guess, for some people, makes it unobtrusive when you're focused on getting the moves right (I didn't notice any weight differential but then again, I'm such a strong boy).
The HUAWEI WATCH FIT tracks pre-loaded different activities and you'd never expect that "laser tag" would be one of those but there you go. What's next? Ballet? Oh, wait… they also have ballet. The device comes with a virtual personal trainer, that guides you through the movements. There will be a demonstration of the exercise on the display before it goes into the workout proper.
The HUAWEI WATCH FIT retails for SGD148 and is available for pre-order from 17-23 October. Orders made during that period include a Huawei Body Fat Scale and Mini Speaker, both worth SGD116.
