For the third year running, Hublot has collaborated with Italia Independent to release a trio of limited edition Classic Fusion Chronographs dressed in vintage fabrics. Italia Independent is owned and fronted by the controversial but always immaculately dressed Fiat Group heir Lapo Elkann. The firm continues to design the watches made by Hublot with fabrics from the legendary Neapolitan atelier, Rubinacci.
Elkann selected three distinct style of fabrics from the Rubinacci archives, all of which are redolent of suit-making trends from the 1960s and 70s. He paired blue houndstooth with polished titanium (LE 100), navy pinstripes with polished black ceramic (LE 100), and a very elegant brown Prince of Wales check with Hublot’s exclusive precious material, King Gold (LE 50).
They will be delivered in a special presentation case that includes a pair of sunglasses also designed by Italia Independent, and exclusive to each model.
Hublot’s 45mm Classic Fusion Chronograph has a bi-compax display that enhances the vintage styling of the pieces. Its chronograph sub-dials are rendered in a matching colour tone for added legibility.
All three timepieces operate on the HUB1143 calibre, which is a self-winding chronograph with 42-hour power reserve and can be admired through a sapphire case back.
