As the Portraits series step out of the way, we cast our focus on Penhaligon's Racquets. The late perfumer, Francis Pickthall, created the scent for Penhaligon's. Originally launched in 1989, the scent evokes the feel of being on the tennis courts.
Whether it be playing on the clay courts or From the uplifting "sparkling-citrus shine" that speaks of its playful state of mind to the bouncing of the tennis ball before takes us to an invigorated, playful state of the game. Expect the top notes of lime blossom, lavender, geranium, lemon and bergamot before it surrenders to its heart notes of ylang-ylang, cloves, cedar and rose. Then, we come to the base notes of oakmoss, musk, amber, incense and vetiver.
The production run of Racquets is limited and while the fragrance is potent, we don't recommend that you apply the scent straight after a sweaty game on the court.
Penhaligon's Racquets retails for SGD300 and is available at all Penhaligon's outlets and online as well.
