Ever-expanding, Martell moves to launch a pop-up that allows a peek into the cognac house's inner workings. Called the L’Atelier Martell, visitors get to explore Martell's spirit of creation, blending and tasting through interactive experiences and masterclasses.
When you embark on something like this, it is best to fill yourself up with courage. Ahem, liquid courage. Check out the Bar of Swifts, where special Martell cocktails are served. Starting from SGD18, patrons can order drinks like the Cognac Buck (Martell VSOP; lemon juice; ginger ale) or the Martell Julep (Martell Noblige; mint syrup; Angostura bitters) but if you prefer your drinks to be along the lines of the classics, you can opt for a single shot of Martell VSOP, the Martell Noblige or the Martell Cordon Bleu.
If you ever want to bottle your own cognac, go for the Cognac from the Cask experience. You get to fill a 70cl montre directly from an authentic oak barrel shipped from Cognac. This golden liquid is a VSOP blended exclusively for L’Atelier Martell. With a personalised label, it'll cost you SGD128 (or SGD188 with special bottle numbers) to bottle your own cognac. Be swift though, it is only limited to 300 bottlings.
(UPDATE: The Cognac from the Cask experience with specially created VSOP blend is SOLD OUT.
(BUT.
(In its place is the No. 4: Fresh Citrus blend that will be available next month in May and it will be serial numbered from 1001 to 1300. We now return to your regular-scheduled post.)
There are cognac tasting masterclasses held by Martell's brand ambassadors. For SGD50, you'll get to taste three signature blends—Martell VSOP, Martell Noblige and Martell Cordon Bleu. Aside from tasting, there's also the VSOP blending masterclass. Held in a place that's inspired by the Cellar Master's atelier, patrons can create their own blend of cognac and take home a personalised montre; this masterclass will run you SGD100. If you're a member of Pernod Ricard’s Le Cercle programme or a selected Partner, an XO blending masterclass is open to you. Take note that you'll need to reserve slots for the Martell Masterclass: Art of Blending VSOP and Masterclass.
But the cherry on the top is a customised bottle engraving of the Martell Cordon Bleu Special Edition Bottle. Retailing at SGD338, guests have the option of engraving a motif, name or personal messages on the bottle's exterior. If a personalised bottle might be too… personalised, there are other Martell limited-edition products available that include the Martell Cordon Bleu 2021 Limited Edition 1L Bottle (SGD348), Martell VSOP Special Edition by Jacky Tsai (SGD130) and Martell Noblige Singapore City Limited Edition (pre-orders only, SGD208).
The L’Atelier Martell space is located at Scotts Square, #01-01. Admission is free and it is encouraged that visitors book their slots. L’Atelier Martell will run until the 29 May.
