In the last Avengers movie, the Mad Titan, Thanos, wrestled control of the Infinity Gauntlet and the Infinity Stones and with a snap—randomly removed 50 percent of all life in the universe. As a contented Thanos look up at the rising sun, the remaining heroes are left to take stock of the situation and lick their wounds. But according to the trailer for the next movie, that setback looks temporary.
There are a lot of pensive, emo moments from the likes of Iron Man, Captain America and Thor (even a surprise guest appearance or two!) but that hasn't dampened the anticipation for the next concluding chapter.
Yes, "concluding" as in "closing". This is a possible bookend to the Avengers franchise. If the title or the ominous statement, "part of the journey is the end" is anything to go by. But this much we know: that Spider-Man will return as Spider-Man: Far From Home is slated to be released on July 5, 2019.
Avengers: Endgame will be out April 26, 2019.
