Hailing from the Black Forest in Germany, Monkey 47 is a dry gin that fuses British traditions, the spices of India, and German identity with craftmanship. A third of the ingredients for all Monkey 47 gin originate from the Black Forest. In total, 47 handpicked plant ingredients prepared in extremely soft spring water from the Black Forest. Through skillful distillation and maturing in traditional earthenware containers, the essence from these ingredients is fully cultivated and refined.
Monkey 47 birthed a pair of siblings so far: Schwarzwald Dry Gin and Schwarzwald Sloe Gin. The former blends 47 different botanicals, with a third of these coming from deep within Germany’s Black Forest. Expect notes of Lingonberries, spruce tips, and elderflower blossoms in this blend.

Ingredients
45ml Monkey 47 Sloe Gin
20ml Fresh Lemon Juice
15ml Sugar Syrup (1 part water, 1 part sugar – 2 to 3 teaspoons of castor sugar)
1 Whole Egg White
Soda, to top up
Lemon peel/ Grapefruit peel, to garnish
Preparation
1. Pour all ingredients (except for the soda) into a shaker.
2. Shake without ice for 5 seconds.
3. Add ice and shake hard for 8 to 10 seconds.
4. Strain into an ice-filled tall glass or Hi-Ball and top with soda.
5. Garnish with a lemon or grapefruit peel.
Vesper Martini

50ml Monkey 47 Schwarzwald Dry Gin
10ml Absolut Elyx Vodka
20ml Lillet Blanc
Lemon peel, to garnish
Preparation
SHAKEN
1. Pour all ingredients into a shaker and fill with ice.
2. Shake hard for 8 to 10 seconds.
3. Using a tea strainer, fine strain into a chilled martini glass (for best results, chill your glass in the freezer).
4. Garnish with a lemon peel.
STIRRED
1. Pour all ingredients into a mixing glass or tin and fill with ice.
2. Stir for 10 to 12 seconds.

45ml Monkey 47 Schwarzwald Dry Gin
20ml Fresh Lime Juice
15ml Runny Honey (2 parts honey, 1 part warm water. Mix until honey is dissolved and well-incorporated)
Lemon peel, to garnish
Preparation
1. Pour all ingredients into a shaker and fill with ice.
2. Shake hard for 8-10 seconds.
3. Using a tea strainer, fine strain into a chilled martini glass or ice-filled tumbler.
4. Garnish with a lemon peel.
