Mr Porter has announced yet another partnership with luxury brand Tom Ford. This time around, it's an all-encompassing capsule collection that has everything one would need for summer. From beachwear ripe for days in the sun to loungewear set for decadent and intimate cocktail parties at home, the collection envisions a summer of ease and comfort.
While designing the line, Ford was personally inspired by Los Angeles lifestyles back in the '70s, expressing them through the use of vibrant colours and floral prints. And like many of us, Ford was also dreaming of travel-filled days to come and the eventual respite from routines as pandemic restrictions start to ease up. The very simple act of dressing for an occasion once again resulted in the bold and fun interpretations of wardrobe staples.
The Mr Porter exclusive collection consists of Ford's signature tailored suits, plush cashmere sweaters as well as refined accessories. The 55-piece collection consists of 35 ready-to-wear pieces, four swim shorts, eight pairs of shoes, two belts, four eyewear styles, one bag and a watch. Our standout selections include a ribbed cashmere cardigan in salmon and a characteristically Tom Ford silk robe done in a bold purple floral print—outer layers for refreshing bouts of colour. We're topping it off with classic accessories such as a pair of tortoiseshell acetate sunglasses, the Ocean Plastic watch as well as a pair of woven leather espadrilles.
What's especially exclusive is the collection's Ocean Plastic watch introduced with a new pink watch strap, and is available only at Mr Porter for four weeks. The Ocean Plastic watch was first released in November 2020 and as the name suggests, is made entirely out of recycled plastic; and we really do mean entirely. Plastic collected from oceans, coastlines and landfills go through a sustainable production process that includes granules being transported through carbon-neutral modes and solar-powered manufacturing.
The Mr Porter x Tom Ford capsule collection is now exclusively available on Mr Porter.
