E-commerce has been somewhat of a saving grace for many fashion brands this year. As working situations switched to more at-home than out-of-home, there have been lesser need to venture out; at least, during Singapore's peak period of COVID-19 cases.
Luxury fashion brands such as Louis Vuitton and Hermès, that successfully launched their Singapore-specific e-commerce platforms right before the pandemic hit, had smoother transitions to cater to local customers while boutiques were ordered to temporarily close.
Prada is now the latest to launch e-commerce in Singapore. Featuring a refreshed interface, Prada.com is also optimised to work seamlessly across desktop and mobile devices so one can truly browse and buy Prada anytime and anywhere. Shipping is free (expect a delivery date of one to three business days after confirmation), with the nifty option of picking up purchases in-person from designated boutiques. And thankfully, Prada also provides free returns within 14 days of delivery.
Prada.com isn't solely an e-commerce platform too. Packed with editorial content, the platform serves as an immersive experience for new and loyal customers alike. The 'Pradasphere' section, for example, is where a complete look at the brand's extensive library of imagery and films can be browsed.
The launch of Prada.com means that Singapore is the latest country where the online-exclusive Prada Timecapsule series is made available. Each Prada Timecapsule drop happens every first Thursday of the month and is done in a limited run of only 50 items. In conjunction with the launch, the classic boxy, camp-collar Prada shirt is done in a pink-and-black print inspired by film posters of the '60s with 'December' splashed across the triangle logo on the back. Each piece is also numbered out of 50 for that extra exclusive touch.
And coming soon to Prada.com, is the next instalment of the brand's collaboration with adidas.
If the previous adidas for Prada sneakers were based around the Superstar silhouette, the latest A+P LUNA ROSSA 21 is a more technical sneaker inspired mostly by the AC75 Luna Rossa boat. In essence, the A+P LUNA ROSSA 21 is designed with sailing-friendly attributes in mind—a truly sustainable upper that's made from adidas's PRIMEGREEN material (completely composed of non-virgin plastics), a hydrophobic E-TPU outer shell, and topped off with a BOOST midsole as well as a wraparound outsole for enhanced durability, flexibility, and freedom of movement.
The A+P LUNA ROSSA 21 is slated for a 9 December 2020 release. And for the first time, you'll be able to shop one without being physically present in a Prada boutique.
