We all knew that a Rimowa x Supreme collaboration was coming. True enough, the announcement was made early this week that the Rimowa x Supreme capsule collection will drop soon—on 12 April at Supreme stores in New York, London and Paris, and on 14 April at select Rimowa stores.
Just like all things Supreme, the pieces are priced higher than regular, non-collab ones. The Rimowa x Supreme collection consists of Rimowa’s Topas rollers in two sizes with a black and a red version available for each. The small carry-on version has 45 litres of space and retails for USD1,600 (approximately SGD2,100) while the larger version has 82 litres of space and retails for USD1,800 (approximately SGD2,400).
Truth be told, the design is simple but Rimowa’s aluminium cases are the best there is. And you definitely won’t miss your luggage at the baggage pick-up area with that bold Supreme branding plastered on it. Well, that’s assuming no one steals it first. If you’re wondering what getting the large version will cost you, we’ve got you covered.
1. A return air ticket to New York (SGD1,498 each via Singapore Airlines)
To visit the Supreme store in New York City, of course! And with money to spare for some actual Supreme merch.
2. Two pairs of Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 sneakers (SGD999 each)
Those self-lacing shoes you were awed by as a kid while watching Back to The Future II are finally a (much closer) reality. Exclusively available at NikeLab at Dover Street Market Singapore, these stay on your feet too so there’s lesser risk of losing them as compared to the Rimowa x Supreme luggage.
3. Four Saint Laurent leather passport holders (SGD535 each via MATCHESFASHION.COM)
Simple and classic. It’s also something you would less likely be precious about. Scratching the leather on this versus bangs and scratches on the Rimowa x Supreme? The latter would be like a dagger straight through the heart.
4. 72 Muji neck pillows (SGD33 each)
Because when it comes to long-distance flights, comfort is more important than anything else.
5. 411 copies of Esquire Singapore (at a subscription rate of SGD70 each for 12 issues)
You’re set for great reads for 34 years. How many copies can we fit into the larger version of Rimowa x Supreme? Somebody do the math.
