DJI, the Chinese leader in civilian drones and camera tech, released a drone with an even immersive flight experience for the user: first person view (FPV). Now with a pair of goggles, you can watch what your drone is looking at, through the high-speed sweeps and turns, in real time.
(Sure you might feel a little nausea when you're tearing through the sky but with any first-person shooters, it takes a little getting used to and you'll be flying like a pro.)
The DJI FPV includes the drone, goggles, a remote controller, and a new intuitive motion controller option that puppets the drone based on the movement of your hand. Operators can see from the drone’s perspective in low-latency high definition, thanks to DJI’s proprietary OcuSync tech.
Whether you're an amateur or a pro, there are multiple flight modes to match your skill level. And there are a bunch of safety features that makes your flying experience a safe one like the Emergency Brake and Hover feature which halts the drone and have it hover in place during the flight. There's the obstacle detection sensors that alert pilots when objects nears and automatically slows down and the Visual Positioning Sensors (VPS) has an auxiliary light that aids in smooth launches and landings.
One of the more helpful features is the Failsafe Return to Home that brings your drone back to the home point with a press of a button or when transmission is lost.
The DJI FPV drone and DJI FPV goggles retail for SGD1,099 and SGD899 respectively, while the optional Motion Controller is sold separately and retails for SGD219. For the standard DJI FPV combo (consisting the FPV drone, remote controller 2, FPV Goggles V2, cables and battery), that retails for SGD1,699.
The DJI FPV is available for purchase online and on DJI official stores on Lazada and Shopee.
