Luxury auberge, Shangri-La Hotel hosts its most ambitious event: GastroFest, an event featuring a culinary line-up as well as activities. Situated at the grounds of the hotel, next to the poolside, GastroFest hosts its own hotel restaurants—Waterfall Ristorante Italiano and The Line—as well as, with partner establishments like TONO Cevicheria, Meat Smith, Springleaf Prata, Coconut Club and The Pantree.
Some of the dishes you can expect at the festival: TONO Cevicheria serves up the Ceviche of ‘Love’—a medley of sea urchin, assorted seafood, a sprinkling of canchita (Peruvian corn nuts), swimming in Aphrodisiac Tiger’s Milk. Meat Smith whips up highlights from each of its outlets, that includes Smoked Spiced Cauliflower Tomato Relish from Meat Smith Little India and the 14-hour Smoked Salt-and-Pepper-rubbed Brisket from Meat Smith Telok Ayer.
Libations are also of avail. Brands like Portobello Road and Le Gin 1&9, will be poured at the Gin Garden presented by East Imperial and Drinksfellas. Drink from East Imperial's range of tonics and sodas and guests can complement their cocktails with their pick of fresh aromatics from the Garnish Table and Herb Garden. Aside from the food and drinks, are the entertainment like art jamming on the lawn and live music performances to set the mood.
GastroFest at Shangri-La Hotel starts today, from 12:30pm to 5pm. Tickets to GastroFest retail for SGD298, which allows access to the food, free-flow of Veuve Clicquot Champagne, cocktails from the Gin Garden, wines, craft beers, juices and soft drinks. For the non-alcoholic option, its SGD228 with access to the food, free-flow of juices and soft drinks. Tickets for the young 'uns, aged six to 11, retail at SGD68; those aged 5 and under, get in for free.
