Wasn't it just last month that we had the Camillo Island at SGCF 2018? Now the event is back again to remind us that time flies, and more importantly, Singapore's bar scene is worth celebrating. Held on the heels of Asia's 50 Best Bars Awards, it's a good way to commend the local honoraries, and a wonderful excuse to drink. And we get it. So many bars, so many activities; what does one look out for? Fret not, we have it all summed up for you (with pictures!).
Here's where the party happens. Live music from NINETEEN80 resident DJs, a food street of crowd favourites, and the best part—all specialty cocktails at SGD12 each. Tickets start from SGD35 and are divided into individual or 4-pax for single day pass, or across all three days because why not. View the full programme here.
Try: IB HQ
Of the 19 bar pop ups, newcomer IB HQ's tipples are steeped in science and experimental in flavour. Curry gin is just one among other infused spirits, which makes for good ground to start your liquid exploration.
SGCF Village happens 10 – 12 May, 4 – 11 pm at Empress Lawn.
Around the city
Featuring guest shifts and exclusive masterclasses from the Best 50 lists, watch the maestros responsible for the magic you drink as they present their recipes and stories behind the signatures. For a more concise way to go about it, we suggest signing up for the themed bar tours.
Try: Cook & Tras Social Library
Who wouldn't want to try drinking in a library setting, in the recently opened Six Senses Maxwell? There are over 3,000 actual books to choose from as you are served by the animated, mustachioed head bartender Ricky Paiva.
Singapore Cocktail Festival happens 10 – 18 May.
