The collaborations don't stop. And this week, they're spread across the three sneaker giants: Nike, Reebok, and adidas. And dare we say, all three of them are pretty stellar collaborations in their own way and are definitely the top three sneakers to cop this week.
On Cop the Drop this week, we're going for the obvious with three collaborations that are worthy of your time and money. First up is READYMADE's interpretation of one of Nike's beloved classics, followed by a second outing by Reebok and Maison Margiela. And last but not least, the always popular YEEZY BOOST 350 comes in a new colourway.
As always, we'll be breaking down our recommendations of whether each sneaker is a worthy investment (or not). It's not all fun and games, after all.
Ready? Let's get into it then.
Commodity: Nike Blazer Mid x READYMADE 'Black'
If you're looking for a pair of refined sneakers, this is not it. In fact, READYMADE's interpretation of the Nike Blazer is probably one of the more purposefully unrefined iterations we've seen thus far, but one that's in line with the brand's aesthetic. The fabric overlays and rough topstitching technique recall READYMADE's penchant for using secondhand materials in order to create something new. With neon highlights and camouflage-print panelling, this pair is definitely not for the average Joe.

How: Add to cart
Retail: SGD239
Price of the Nike Blazer Mid x READYMADE 'Black' on the resale market in the last 7 days: Peaking at SGD1,660 with a low of SGD461. The average sale price is SGD722.
Recommendation: Short it.
There's no doubt that this is one pair of sneakers that you definitely could flip immediately for high returns, just based on the stats alone. This is a no-brainer, folks.
Commodity: Reebok x Maison Margiela Classic Leather Tabi 'Black'
Maison Margiela continues its manipulation of a traditional Reebok sneaker fresh off its painted-like interpretation that was first released late January. This time around, it's done in solid black Nappa leather that displays the characteristically Margiela split toebox in full effect—definitely no frills in this version. Reception may have been mixed at first but with anything Maison Margiela, especially in the Tabi series, there's a cult following that won't be backing away from this at all.
Where: Limited Edt

Retail: SGD399
Price of the Reebok x Maison Margiela Classic Leather Tabi 'Black' on the resale market in the last 7 days: At the time of publication, there have been no sales made on StockX yet. The lowest asking price however, is SGD921.
Recommendation: Short it. Or go long if you feel like it.
If the previous release is anything to go by, we're expecting this to get sold out pretty quickly with a resale demand that matches the hype. You're looking at potentially a profit of at least 50 percent; January's release still holds a rather steady resale price too. We recommend not waiting on this one, but even if you go long, there's still potential in getting big returns.
Commodity: adidas + YEEZY BOOST 350 V2 'Ash Stone'
The YEEZY BOOST 350 just keeps releasing new colourways and fans are still going to keep lapping them up. 2021 is starting with a series of 'Ash'-coloured iterations, with this 'Ash Stone' variation the second in a planned trio of drops. The knit upper takes on an earthy gradient from dark brown to tan, while the iconic lateral stripe is done in a contrasting pastel pink. Not too shabby, Kanye.

Price of the adidas + YEEZY BOOST 350 V2 'Ash Stone' on the resale market in the last 7 days: Peaking at SGD739 with a low of SGD395. The average sale price is SGD509.
Recommendation: Short it.
We've said it time and time again: always flip your YEEZYs immediately. The resale demand is always there with a price that hovers quite steadily. There may be a dip after a while but this is always one brand that you should strike while the iron is piping hot.
Previous drops…
Make no mistake: Nike is not scaling back on its releases in 2021, COVID-19 or not. There's just so many great sneaker releases this week alone that we're dedicating Cop the Drop to three Nike releases that are done in collaboration with some of the most sought after streetwear brands out there.
On Cop the Drop this week, we're starting off with an Air Jordan 14 that's been given an update by Edison Chen's CLOT. Then, a second release that was first dropped 21 years ago. And finally, a new Nike silhouette that could potentially make for another iconic sneaker design.
As always, we'll be breaking down our recommendations of whether each sneaker is a worthy investment (or not). It's not all fun and games, after all.
Ready? Let's get into it then.
Commodity: Air Jordan 14 x CLOT 'Terracotta'
We're quite surprised that this wasn't released in time for Chinese New Year. CLOT—co-founded by actor Edison Chen—has become quite synonymous in the streetwear scene with designs that bridge eastern and western influences. For its latest collaboration with Nike, the Air Jordan 14 is given a wholly oriental treatment inspired by the Terracotta Army that has become such an important part of Chinese culture and history. The earthy colourway is topped off with a metal medallion held together by a characteristically Chinese knotted motif at each heel.
Where: Nike
When: 19 February 2021

Retail: SGD279
Price of the Air Jordan 14 x CLOT 'Terracotta' on the resale market in the last 7 days: Peaking at SGD405 with a low of SGD295. The average sale price is SGD260.
Recommendation: Go long.
While the average resale price may be low right now, this is one pair that we think could potentially gain traction once it's officially released. For one, it's because the design is pretty unique and the colourway is quite a stunner. And if you're worried that the heel adornment is something that's going to deter buyers, it's easily removable.
Commodity: Nike Air Huarache for Stüssy 'Desert Oak'
Another similar, earth-toned colourway this week is courtesy of Nike's collaboration with Stüssy. The Air Huarache for Stüssy is a re-release that was first launched in 2000, exclusive only to Stüssy. That's right, 21 years later and the sneaker is back with a wider release. The colours are overlaid spectacularly atop one another with the Air Huarache emblem fully highlighted in red. Then there's the signature Huarache heel cage that features a translucent tint towards the heel. All in the details with this one.
Where: Nike
When: 18 February 2021

Retail: SGD199
Price of the Nike Air Huarache for Stüssy 'Desert Oak' on the resale market in the last 7 days: Peaking at SGD365 with a low of SGD186. The average sale price is SGD258.
Recommendation: Go long.
This is a re-release after all and while that means that it's perhaps a tad less covetable than the scoring the original, it's still a collaboration beauty between two streetwear giants. We recommend going long with this one but since it's sold out on Nike, you may want to hit while the iron is still mighty hot.
Commodity: Nike Overbreak x UNDERCOVER 'Black'
The Nike Overbreak is one of Nike's newest inventions, with only a few months old. And this collaboration with UNDERCOVER is one that could propel the silhouette into the annals of streetwear history—it's that sick. The unmistakable OverReact sole unit is rendered in black with white speckles with cream inserts for a devastatingly devilish look. And the upper comprises of a textile fabric combined with synthetic suede for a textural finish in all-black. True to UNDERCOVER's aesthetic are the printed texts—'CHAOS' and 'BALANCE'—right at the toe.

Price of the Nike Overbreak x UNDERCOVER 'Black' on the resale market in the last 7 days: Peaking at SGD2,660 with a low of SGD345. The average sale price is SGD510.
Recommendation: Short it.
We're expecting this to sell out pretty quickly once it drops. And early resale figures already suggest that. What's interesting to note (and perhaps an anomaly) is that someone paid SGD2,660 for a pair. While the chances of letting this pair go at that price again is pretty slim, one can never be too sure…
Previous drops…
Just like how Valentine's Day (it's just right around the corner, folks) is a celebration of a partnership between two (or more; no judgements) individuals, so is a collaboration. And best believe, that when it concerns the sneaker and streetwear community, collaborations are serious business; especially with respect to the resale market
On Cop the Drop this week, we take a look at three sneaker releases that prove that long-term relationships do exist. First up is the second iteration of Nike x AMBUSH, followed by a new collaboration between Puma and the 'godfather of toy figurines'. And lastly, the return of Carhartt WIP with Converse.
As always, we'll be breaking down our recommendations of whether each sneaker is a worthy investment (or not). It's not all fun and games, after all.
Ready? Let's get into it then.
Commodity: Nike Dunk High x AMBUSH 'Cosmic Fuchsia'
The collaborative Dunk High between Nike and AMBUSH receives a new colourway that's a complete opposite of the original that was first dropped in December 2020. Instead of the subdued black-and-white treatment, the latest iteration is done in full fuschia (right down to the outsole) for maximum impact. And in our opinion, a more fitting combination that juxtaposes quite brilliantly with the neon green insoles.
Where: Nike
When: 4 February 2021
How: Add to cart
Retail: SGD259
Price of the Nike Dunk High x AMBUSH 'Cosmic Fuchsia' on the resale market in the last 7 days: Peaking at SGD894 with a low of SGD518. The average sale price is SGD657.
Recommendation: Short it. Or go long.
If you're not even thinking of wearing this bold pair, flipping this would easily garner a 50 percent profit. The resale price trend may be decreasing somewhat, but we're expecting this to hover around SGD600 for quite a bit, and may even increase if we were to compare it to the December 2020 original's resale trend.
Commodity: Puma x Michael Lau Mirage Mox
Michael Lau is no stranger to the streetwear and sneaker scene. The toy figurine designer has imbued his multicoloured aesthetic on a host of iconic sneaker silhouettes, including a series of Nikes. For Lau's latest collaboration with Puma, he explores the idea of an artist's design process—concentrating on grid lines, and trial-and-error. The result (just one of a rather extensive collection) is a new take on the Mirage Mox, that looks somewhat unfinished and done in an almost handmade fashion.
Where: Puma
When: 1 February 2021
How: Add to cart
Retail: SGD199
Price of the Puma x Michael Lau Mirage Mox on the resale market in the last 7 days: At the time of publication, the sneaker has yet to make an appearance on StockX.
Recommendation: Not for resale.
While a lot of Michael Lau's collaborative sneakers with Puma aren't available on StockX at the time of publication, a few of his works with Nike are still up for resale. And, get this, with asking prices ranging from SGD650 to SGD30,000! It may be too optimistic to anticipate such a demand for this pair though, so best to leave this on the sneaker shelf or your feet should you be inclined to get one.
Commodity: Converse x Carhartt WIP Chuck 70 High 'Camo Olive'
Carhartt WIP and Converse reunite once again for a high-top re-envisioning of their April 2020 collaboration. The two-pack release focuses on the 'Hamilton Brown' and 'Camo Olive', with the latter being the standout of the two. The muted camouflage print is set against a white outsole base and trimmed with that unmistakably Converse piping that rests just above the outsole, while the Carhartt WIP branding sits squarely on the tongue.
Where: Carhartt WIP
When: 3 February 2021

Retail: SGD169
Price of the Converse x Carhartt WIP Chuck 70 High 'Camo Olive' on the resale market in the last 7 days: At the time of publication, only two pieces have been sold on StockX—at SGD159 and SGD179.
Recommendation: Not for resale.
There's undeniable appeal for the pair, but it isn't quite the hype pair of sneakers one would immediately want to grab—at last glance, you could still cop a few pairs in pretty decent sizes. But the good thing is, if you're looking for a pair of sneakers that are undoubtedly easy to wear and has quite an urban edge to them, this is one that'll have more bang for your buck.
