From classic sports watches and motoring-inspired icons to futuristic smart watches and innovative high complications, TAG Heuer has done it all. More importantly, this industry stalwart has made it a point to keep prices accessible, which is arguably more than can be said for the majority of luxury brands out there.
Just two years ago in 2016, TAG Heuer shocked the industry by releasing what was then the most affordable Swiss made tourbillon chronograph in the world, the Carrera Heuer-02 T priced a sneeze under CHF15,000. And not only was this watch a tourbillon chronograph, it was COSC-certified, ensuring that even through it was priced so accessibly, there had been absolutely no compromise on performance and reliability.
Along with the Carrera Heuer-02 T, TAG Heuer also released an all-black version nicknamed the Black Phantom. That model was priced a bit higher, at CHF19,900, but being a 250-piece limited edition made it well worth the extra. Both versions had been well received among watch connoisseurs, as the watch was a clear exercise in manufactory framework optimisation. Inspired by the achievements of the awe-inspiring TAG Heuer Monaco V4, the flying tourbillon here is lightweight and handcrafted by four dedicated watchmakers. It has a central section made of titanium plus a carbon top section.
Now the story continues with a new model made exclusively for our region. Like both earlier versions, the Carrera Heuer-02 T Special Edition comes in grade 5 titanium with a unique perforated finish. Delivered on a dark grey calf ski rubber strap plus an additional rubber-lined black alligator strap, this sporty COSC-certified high complication also comes with certain bragging rights because only 10 individually numbered pieces will be made. So out of the nearly six million people in Singapore and over 31 million in Malaysia, only 10 lucky dudes (or dudettes?) will get to own the watch.
Priced at $27,300 or MYR76,050, you can find the Carrera Heuer-02 T Special Edition at all TAG Heuer boutiques in Singapore and Malaysia, as well as the Sincere Watch online store if you’re already way ahead on the online watch shopping fever.
