Local art collective, Tell Your Children (TYC), has been an emerging presence in the art and design industry. Consisting of Deon Phua, Russell Ong, Lydia Yang and Kevin Too, the quartet has worked on animation, murals, branding and have even collaborated with brands like Novesta, Chinatown Market and Uniqlo, just to name a few. The latest addition to that list? LA-based streetwear label, The Hundreds.
In 2015, TYC met with co-founder, Bobby Hundreds when the group was on their US tour. Their conversations led to the possibility of a collaboration. Five years later, we now have the fruits of that chance meeting: a limited-edition capsule between TYC and The Hundreds.
Available as a t-shirt, cap and coach jacket, TYC created a graphic that's inspired by the ubiquitous HDB flats many of us grew up in. The image also pays tribute to Under One Roof, a local sitcom that aired back in 1995 (fifty bucks say that your brain is playing the theme song, "Moses Lim is Tan Ah Teck…")
The Tell Your Children x The Hundreds collaboration range from SGD48 and will drop this Thursday, 28 January at the Tell Your Children / The Hundreds online shop; the Hundreds app and at the Hundreds brick-and-mortar store in LA.
