It's pretty hard to get hold of a Tesla—supply chain issues have been holding the brand back from meeting demand and the wait notoriously takes up to a year. But if you've got your eyes set on one or just want a closer look, you'll be glad to know that the automaker is holding its first public showcase in the region of the all-electric SUV Model Y.
The all electric, mid-size SUV has over 2100 litres cargo space and can accommodate up to five passengers and their belongings. Apart from taking just 3.7 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h with a range of up to 514km (WLTP – Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure) per charge, it also features an all-glass roof, autopilot, active safety features and HEPA air filtration system.

Model Y comes in two versions: Rear-Wheel Drive and Performance Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive. The former has a 455 km Range (WLTP), an acceleration of 6.9 seconds and 19” Gemini or 20” Induction wheels while the latter has a 514 km Range (WLTP), an acceleration of 3.7 seconds and 21” Uberturbine wheels.
Prices start from $142,471 and $190,195 respectively and include the EV incentive but exclude COE. Not sure how convenient it'll be to charge them? There are currently eight V3 Supercharging stations in Singapore with 24 Superchargers and the locations include Orchard Central, Katong V and West Coast Plaza.
For reference, a Model Y Performance operating at peak efficiency of 250kW can charge up to 120km in five minutes with V3 Supercharging. Delivery to buyers starts next month so it just might not be that long of a wait.
The Tesla Y public showcase is located at ION Orchard, L1 Atrium and runs from now till July 24.
