It was quite an impressive turnout for this year's Billboard Music Awards. The annual music award show was held in Las Vegas' MGM Grand Garden Arena and saw the makings of several notable pop culture moments.
Host Kelly Clarkson opened the show with an emotional speech on gun violence in lieu of the recent Santa Fe High School shooting in her home state of Texas. Singers Christina Aguilera and Demi Lovato took to the stage in a vocal-soaring duet about female empowerment. Khalid and Shawn Mendes performed 'Youth'—a song referencing the current sociopolitical climate—and were joined by the show choir from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. After her first televised performance in nine years, Janet Jackson was presented with the Icon Award by Bruno Mars, making her the first black woman to receive the honour. Ed Sheeran and Kendrick Lamar tied for the most number of wins with six awards each, while Luis Fonsi received five awards just for his infectious—and possibly quite annoying by now—tune 'Despacito' alone.
If that's one whole chunk of information overload (which you're now a tad sore for not watching), we picked out the noteworthy looks to hit the 2018 Billboard Music Awards red carpet as well as the stage, just so you can have a taste of what you actually missed out on.
