The latest trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home drops a few hours ago and we have a better sense of the story. The last instalment had J Jonah Jameson (still played by JK Rowling Simmons in this universe) revealing Spider-Man's identity to the world. To rectify that Tom Holland's character visits Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to magic everything back to normal… and we know that when magic is involved, things go awry.
This brings in the villains from all of the Spider-Man's franchises—Doctor Octopus (Alfred Molina); Electro (Jamie Foxx); Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe). We even got a glimpse of two more villains: the Sandman and the Lizard at the 2:16 mark. But that's only five villains you've spotted, you cry. Where's the sixth in the Sinister Six?
The Vulture (Michael Keaton) might return to round off the team. We haven't seen hide nor hair or him in the trailer but then again, there's a lot of talk that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will return as the other franchise's Spider-Mans (that is a very weird sentence to write out) and we haven't seen them either.
I mean, if the bad guys from those universes are making an appearance, why not the heroes?
Spider-Man: No Way Home will be in theatres 17 December.
