When you're a storied fashion house like Valentino, it takes very little to be identifiable. Yet Valentino is one of those that has quite a variety of signature recognisable features. For one, it's in the fashion house's use of florals as well as petal-like appliqués. Then of course, there's the extensive use of studs across its accessories line.
Valentino Garavani's Rockstud series has become a defining characteristic for Valentino's accessories. Studs all around on a bracelet? Has to be Valentino. A belt bag trimmed with studs? Definitely, Valentino.
In 2021, the Rockstud evolved. Creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli introduced a significantly larger version that's referred to as the Roman Stud. It's big enough that all it takes is just one to be decorated on the fashion house's latest sneaker for it to be an unmistakably Valentino creation.
The Valentino Garavani One Stud sneaker is a subtly branded (but not exactly so, especially if you're in-the-know) footwear that comes in both mid and low variations. Crafted in nappa leather, the sneaker's uppers are constructed in a maxi-quilting design that underscores the magnified aesthetic in line with the blown-up stud element. The One Stud sneaker is available in three colourways that are all based on a white upper with the sole, trims and heel elements all taking up the same hue as the stud.
In other words, if you weren't a fan of the Rockstud sneakers—embellished with rows of studs—the more minimally designed One Stud sneaker is a solid option.
The Valentino Garavani One Stud sneaker is now available in Valentino boutiques.
