We've talked about Bold Metrics' Contactless Fit tech before. A much-needed process during a very stupid pandemic where proximity with another person might kill you. The programme records accurate body measurements without the need for selfies, scanners or measuring tape. All you have to do is answer a few questions and Bold Metrics' AI will generate a unique 3D avatar. Able to formulate about 50+ distinct body measurements for both men and women, the latest prediction accuracy hovers above 92 percent.
While it lowers the frustration of fitting on the consumer's end, it also helps cut fit-related return costs for companies by 30 percent. Men's Wearhouse, a men's apparel company, just became the first business in America to launch Bold Metrics' Contactless Fit.
Initially launched in selected stores, Bold Metrics’ Contactless Fit tech is now implemented in more than 650 Men’s Wearhouse and Jos A Bank (another male apparel line for parent company, Tailored Brands, Inc) outlets. It's seen as a promising move for Bold Metrics that a big name brand has committed to a way of contactless measurements. Will we see Bold Metrics make an appearance in Asia? Could be. Will Contactless Fit completely phase out the intimacy of tape measurements against your body and the silent judgemental stare of the tailor on your person? No. But it's a good option to have.
